Who We Work With
Nina’s Laundrette supports a wide range of businesses and organisations with coin laundry equipment for lease:
A route-operated laundry room is the perfect solutionFor apartment buildings, strata complexes, and other residential buildings. Body corporate committees and property managers already have enough to worry about without having to troubleshoot laundry equipment issues or convincing dozens of unit owners to chip in for new machines.
By outsourcing your communal laundry room management to Nina’s Laundrette, your owners corporation will avoid all those headaches. We take care of installing and maintaining the washers/dryers at no cost to the owners, so you can offer a convenient laundry amenity to residents without straining the building’s budget or management time.
Government-funded housing, community, and other social housing operate under tight budgets. Residents in these communities still deserve access to proper laundry facilities. Nina’s Laundrette can help social housing providers offer great laundry amenities without diverting critical funds from the project. Partnering with a route operator can save tens of thousands of dollars on each housing development, freeing up budget that can be used for other important services or improvements.
We work with providers to ensure that the laundry equipment we provide meets the accessibility requirements of the residents. We also work with social housing providers to offer flexible arrangements to ensure that vulnerable or low-income residents get the best possible laundry experience at the lowest cost per use. It’s a smart solution for not-for-profits and government agencies looking to maximize value in social housing developments while at the same time providing the best possible amenities to residents
Guest laundry facilities can be a selling point for short-stay accommodations – or a source of complaints if they’re consistently out of order. Partnering with a laundry route operator ensures your guests have access to high-quality, reliable washers and dryers with easy cashless payments, enhancing their stay. Commercial-grade machines also mean quicker wash times and less downtime, resulting in a better experience for guests and fewer complaints to your staff. Nina’s Laundrette manages laundry rooms for a wide range of short-stay accommodation businesses, including:
- Student Accommodation – campus residences, student apartments
- Hotels & Resorts – from boutique hotels to large resorts
- Motels & Hostels – budget travel accommodations
- Caravan Parks & Campgrounds – holiday parks, camping sites
- Medical Housing – outpatient family accommodation near hospitals
- Rooming Houses – short stay shared accommodation
No matter your type of property, we’ll ensure your guests or residents enjoy a convenient, problem-free laundry facility – which can boost your customer satisfaction scores and online reviews for hospitality businesses.
Student accommodation isn’t just about a bed and a desk – today’s students expect convenience, comfort, and reliability in every aspect of their living experience. Laundry facilities are no exception. That’s why Nina’s Laundrette partners with student housing providers across Australia to deliver reliable, low-maintenance, cashless laundry solutions designed specifically for high-use environments like student residences.
With Nina’s, you can offer commercial-grade laundry machines at no upfront cost, installed and maintained by our team, so your on-site staff can focus on supporting students – not dealing with laundry issues. Our cashless payment systems (via phone, card, or app) make it easy for students to do their laundry without needing coins. They also accept international payment providers like WeChat and AliPay.
Leasing Coin Laundry Equipment: Common Questions
Below are the questions body corporate committees, property managers, and accommodation operators ask most often before committing to a laundry equipment arrangement.
Under our model, you do not purchase the machines and you do not pay a lease instalment. Nina’s Laundrette supplies commercial-grade washers and dryers, delivers and installs them free of charge, and then manages them on an ongoing basis. Residents or guests pay per wash and per dry at the machine, and that usage revenue covers the equipment. The building owner, committee, or operator carries no capital cost and no service cost.
There is no cost to you. Outright purchase of commercial laundry machines can run to tens of thousands of dollars, and a conventional lease brings monthly payments plus a separate service agreement. Our arrangement removes both. We provide the washers and dryers at no cost, install them at no charge, and absorb maintenance and servicing.
Buying gives you ownership, but it also gives you the full purchase price, the depreciation, the repair bills, the parts sourcing, and the resident complaints when a machine goes down. Domestic machines are a common shortcut, and they are simply not built for the volume a shared laundry puts through them, so they tend to fail early. A managed arrangement removes the capital outlay and shifts responsibility for uptime onto the provider, which is why it suits buildings and accommodation operators who want the amenity without the asset.
All of it, at no charge. If a washer breaks or a dryer stops heating, we repair it. Every machine carries a QR code so residents and guests report faults straight to us, which means no chasing, no logging tickets with your building manager, and no waiting on a third-party technician. We also handle customer service and refund requests directly, so your team is not fielding them.
Our equipment supports cashless, tap-and-go payments, including international payment providers such as WeChat and Alipay. There are no coins to jam the mechanism, no float to manage, and no cash sitting on site to be collected or stolen. For hotels, student accommodation, and social housing in particular, this removes an ongoing administrative and security burden.
We start with your building. Our team recommends an equipment plan based on the size of your communal laundry and the number of residents or guests it serves, so you are not under-supplied at peak times or paying for floor space you do not need. We then deliver and install the machines at no charge and take over management from day one.
Confirm who funds the machines, who pays for repairs and parts, who your residents contact when something fails, whether the units are genuine commercial machines or domestic models, whether payments are cashless, and whether installation is included. Get each answer in writing. The gap between a good arrangement and a poor one usually shows up in the maintenance and support terms rather than in the headline price.

St. Georges Rd
The original Northcote Laundromat providing laundry services to our community for over 50 years
Nina’s Laundrette began on St. Georges Road as a sewing and laundry business supporting Melbourne’s textile industry in the 1970s.
In the year 2000 the business moved to become a self service laundromat. The owners have changed over the decades, but Nina’s name has lived on, honouring the hard working women who immigrated to Australia and helped build the culture of Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
