Reliable commercial laundry equipment
Our Laundromat has a wide variety of Dexter commercial washing machines and dryers, ranging from smaller 9kg washing machines for small loads all the way up to 27kg washing machines that can easily clean your doona.
Our machines take laundry powder or liquid, you are more than welcome to bring your own from home or purchase some from our vending machine when you arrive.
Pay for your laundry using card or coins
You have the option to pay by cash, debit or credit credit. To pay by card, head to the Bubble Pay kiosk located at the back of our store and tap the screen to get started. Alternatively, scan the QR code on the washing machine or dryer and follow the prompts to pay.

Instead of feeding coins into each machine, you pay electronically. At Nina’s there are two ways to do it. Tap the screen at the Bubblepay kiosk at the back of the store, select your machine, and pay by debit or credit card. Or scan the QR code on the washer or dryer you want to use with your phone and follow the prompts. The machine starts once payment goes through, and there is no plastic laundry card to buy, load, or keep track of.
Yes, by scanning the QR code on the machine. Your phone opens the payment prompts for that specific washer or dryer, you pay on screen, and the machine starts. It is the quickest option when the kiosk is busy, and it means you can do your washing without carrying a wallet.
No hunting for coins before leaving home, no jammed coin slots, and no walking to a change machine mid-visit. Card payment also makes a loyalty program possible. Nina’s Wash Club takes $1 off washers 1 to 3 and $2 off washers 4 to 6, and adds a bonus $5 for every $50 preloaded, none of which works with coins. A store that holds little cash is also a safer store for everyone.
Yes. You can pay by cash, debit card, or credit card. Card is the quicker option and unlocks Wash Club pricing, but customers who prefer cash are welcome.
Every washer and dryer in the store, from the 9 kg front loaders through the 13 kg, 18 kg, and 27 kg machines to the large and extra-large dryers, can be paid for at the kiosk or by QR code. Large capacity is one of the reasons people travel to us: the 27 kg front loaders take king and queen doonas, rugs, and a whole family wash in one go.
First check that the machine number you selected matches the machine you loaded. Then try the other payment route: if the QR code did not work, use the kiosk, and vice versa. If you were charged and the machine still did not start, note the machine number and the time and contact us through the website. We will look into it and arrange a refund where one is due.
Nina’s Laundrette does. Alongside the Northcote laundromat, we supply, install, and manage coin and cashless laundry equipment for shared laundries in apartment buildings, hotels, student accommodation, caravan parks, and social housing across Australia, at no cost to the owner. Residents pay per cycle at the machine and that revenue covers the equipment and servicing. The program is built for shared and guest laundries rather than for opening a laundromat. Nina’s Laundrette began on St. Georges Road as a sewing and laundry business supporting Melbourne’s textile industry in the 1970s.
In the year 2000 the business moved to become a self service laundromat. The owners have changed over the decades, but Nina’s name has lived on, honouring the hard working women who immigrated to Australia and helped build the culture of Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
