Late Night And Early Morning Laundry In Northcote: Common Questions
Below are the questions people ask most often when they need a laundromat outside normal business hours.
Not quite. We open at 6:00 AM and close at midnight, seven days a week, including public holidays, which is 18 hours a day. To finish before closing, allow about an hour and a half for a wash and dry and start your last load by around 10:30 PM.
Washes run from $6 for a 9 kg express cycle to $17 for a 27 kg super cycle, and dryers are $1 for six minutes in the large dryers or $1 for five minutes in the extra-large. We recommend about $7 to dry a full load in a large dryer and $8 in an extra-large. Full pricing for every machine is in the equipment section above.
All of them. Pay by debit or credit card at the Bubblepay kiosk at the back of the store, scan the QR code on the machine and pay on your phone, or use cash and coins. There is no need to find change at 11:00 PM.
Yes. A king or queen doona goes in a 27 kg front loader for a 27 minute cycle, then into an extra-large dryer, where we recommend about $8 of drying time for a full load. Allow a couple of hours in total, because the doona must be dried right through to the core, and start by 10:00 PM to be safe.
Pay by card so you are not carrying cash, park as close to the store as you can, bring everything you need so you are not leaving and returning, stay with your washing, and note the machine number in case you need to contact us. Nina’s is on St George’s Road, a main road, and the store is open and in use until midnight.
Yes. Bring powder or liquid from home, or buy some from the vending machine in store, which is available whenever we are open.
Note the machine number and the time, move your washing to another machine if you need to, and contact us through the website. We will investigate and arrange a refund where one is due.
For businesses, yes. Our commercial laundry service collects, washes, dries, folds, and returns towels and linen for salons, gyms, clinics, and similar businesses across Melbourne and the northern suburbs. For households, the store is self service.
Nina’s Wash Club is our discount program and it is open to everyone. Join free at the Bubblepay kiosk to receive $1 off washers 1 to 3, $2 off washers 4 to 6, and a bonus $5 for every $50 preloaded to your account.

St. Georges Rd
The original Northcote Laundromat providing laundry services to our community for over 50 years
Nina’s Laundrette began on St. Georges Road as a sewing and laundry business supporting Melbourne’s textile industry in the 1970s.
In the year 2000 the business moved to become a self service laundromat. The owners have changed over the decades, but Nina’s name has lived on, honouring the hard working women who immigrated to Australia and helped build the culture of Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
